Anyone who have followed any form of news lately will be well aware of the recently discovered shipwreck in the Pleiades sector. The wreckage is of foreign origin and is of previously unencountered craftsmanship.

The Galactic Vikings were among the first to investigate the crash site after its location was leaked to the public. Luckily, and perhaps strangely, GalVik’s representatives were alone on the site during their investigation.

There has been little talk about what the Vikings found in the Pleiades Sector, but the details of the expedition has recently been disclosed to the public.

“We got there swiftly after briefly discussing the expedition. We had the funds, and we had the time, so we went for it.” Said Commander Oxforth to Heimskringla’s journalist when asked about the expedition.

The expedition consisted of two members, Wing Commander Ramforth and Commander Oxforth. They flew two ships out to the Pleiades Sector. One Cobra Mk III, codenamed Stinger, and one ASP Explorer, Hugin.

We rigged the ships with advanced discovery scanners and detailed surface scanners before we left. However, on approach we discovered that Hugin’s Vehicle Hangar was empty. I made a swift detour to the Maia system and purchased a Surface Recon Vehicle there before quickly regrouping with Ramforth’s Stinger on site.

The site itself wasn’t hard to find, because we had interdicted the leaked coordinates to the crash site. The information proved to be true and we found the wreckage in a canyon on the moon in question. We took pictures, size comparisons and sampled as much data as we could from the site during our time there. We also searched the surface for any other points of interest in a wide radius. We found nothing other than the wreckage, and have heard no words of anyone else finding anything relating to the wreckage in the surrounding area.

Commander Oxforth has disclosed some of the pictures taken on the expedition, detailing the crash site and the wreckage itself.

“The wreckage seems to me to have been on-site, untouched and unmoved for quite some time. The sensation of finding it, looking at it was eerie. The debris doesn’t look like it comes from any known type of ship from the past few centuries, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s alien.” Added Commander Oxforth.

“With its green hue and alien organic structure it really sparks the imagination into thinking about extra terrestrial designers. But it really is too early to say. For all we know, this could be an Imperial test-craft gone awry and missing. After all, the Imperial Navy was quick to respond, and has even positioned a Majestic Class Interdictor at the scene. There are Imperials crawling all over the place.”

Said Wing Commander of the Galactic Vikings, Commander Ramforth.

In the picture below you can clearly see the Majestic class Imperial Interdictor. WCMDR RAMFORTH reported that it hoovered right above the crashsite, and had Imperial-type ships in shuttle-traffic between the wreckage and the capital ship.

Heimskringla has spoken to Dr. Albert Halley regarding GalVik’s expedition and subsequent finds.

“Personally I have a gut-feeling that this is something previously unencountered by humanity. The fact that the Galactic Vikings Navy got there before the site could be disturbed is lucky to say the least. Their data has been most valuable to my research. However, the findings have raised more questions than answers.”

Dr. Halley have cross-referenced the pictures of the debris to a thousand different ships and modules and found no match.

While the hopes and theories about the crash site are many, there are a few sceptics. Among them Rear Admiral Axley (retired) of the Federation.

“Some people theorize about it being a Thargoid wreck. The rumors of Thargoids are probably the embers of ancient fantasies, suddenly fanned to life by Jasmina Halsey. Personally I find it more likely that the wreckage is some sort of disposed-of module or cargo from a Generation ship”

Generation ships are huge colonisation vessels travelling through normal space at near-relativistic speed, many have still to reach their destinations.

“Of those that might have, none have attempted to decelerate and have made no effort to communicate with welcoming parties.”

Said Naval Intelligence Officer, Commander Reikhart of the Federation.

The Stiklestadir is one such ship on its way towards the galactic core, and although it has been searched for it has yet to be found.

Indeed, the hopes and theories surrounding this recent discovery are numerous, and they have sparked debate among the GalVik community.

Wing Commander Ramforth has stated that the wreck’s possible relation to the Barnacles, Unknown Artifacts and Unknown Probes and possibly to the flawed jump of famed Orbis station Jaques needs to be investigated.

“Unknown Artifacts are known to do funny things to ship modules, such as cause malfunction or even complete shut-down of certain functions. We had a working theory that Jacques Station had a substantial amount of Unknown Artifacts in hold at the time of the attempted jump. We’ve confirmed the theory, but have yet to get a clear number out of Jaques Station officials regarding exactly how many artifacts they carried.” Said Jimmy Jameson of the Cannon Research Group.
